Ryan's Build Progression

I never actually sat down and made a build thread, so here we go.

I got my car in 2009, it is a 2002 reflex silver gti with a 5 speed manual transmission. The car was bone stock from the previous owner, and had 147xxx miles on the body, and 80xxx on the engine. I got it for $2900 because it wasn't running, turns out it was a plug in the engine bay not plugged in all the way. First thing I did was the timing belt, and water pump to keep the maintenance up to date. The car has been kind of a slow progression because I bought it the beginning of my senior year in high school with my own money, and was paying it off for a while. Now I'm in college and making much more progress.

Upcoming Plans:

-idf tubular control arms
-smaller rear adapters
-20th sideskirts and valences painted and ready to go on in spring






The first things I started on were new audi tt wheels, smoked the bumper and side markers, a stock grille, and some good old racelands (before ultimos came out)





Went into winter mode and got a roof rack



During winter the roads got alot worse (PA roads are already bad enough)







Came out to my car after being at a party



Alot of time went by, and my car stayed the same, until I got a new job and started making more money. I got a nikon d60 in fall, and started taking some more decent pictures. I also removed my rear wiper blade.







I left my car in a parking lot for about an hour and came back to this





Picked up a few goodies from a wrecked 20th for a great price, and some .:R pedals, and shift knob. I also picked up some mercedes monoblocks for dirt cheap.











Picked up some new bumper markers, and amber sidemarkers



I ordered some glass lenses cause my headlights were looking pretty bad and I was sick of polishing them. I got my 42dd 3" turbo back too











Ended up finally getting my ocean taillights after they were on back order for two months, and got some more monoblocks





(I test fit the zaubers, but took them off to be refinished, and get some new tires)








I wanted to get bags, but figured it'd be better to save up rather than spend all my money on one thing, so got some ultimos for the mean time. I made sure to take out the perches, and helper springs off the bat

If this was my car, the first thing i would have spent money on would be that effed quarter panel, and rubstrip. Regardless, nice progress. Oh, get some new control arm bushings

Yeah it ended up taking about a half hour, and thanks the headlights made a huge difference

Yeah I passed emissions fine because I have a high flow cat and don't throw any codes
