I remember the original one on Genesis.
You obviously played the motorcycle pack for Burnout Paradise
I haven't played that game in a while...

The last Road Rash game was in 1999... it's been long enough that they should resurrect the series.
I, personally, think Critereon would be the best choice to make it... I definitely think they could use another hit, like Burnout was for them for so long
Who's with me? I think it'd sell like hotcakes...

LOL
I still have a 3D0 and Road Rash. They should definitely modernize it using something like the Burnout engine or the like. Would be hilarious fun.
Hell, bring Skitchin' back while they're at it.![]()
Where are we going and why am I in this handbasket?

We pitched this a few times. the biggest hurdle is that Bike Gangs are considered taboo in the UK, and UK/EU marketing wont touch it.

That's some interesting insight.

haha Road Rash was the **** back in the day. My favorite was kicking the guy next to you or smacking them with a chain.

I hate Marketing driven projects... EAs got enough money to make something fun and not a blockbuster...
Critereon already has everything built in terms of a physics engine and all the bikes and stuff (as shown in that Burnout trailer)
all they need to do is add weapons and a fun little story.

Awesome, I just had this conversation with a friend a few weekends ago. I'd LOVE another Road Rash game. I think it might be hard to translate into a modern day game and be as enjoyable as it used to be, but who knows. You're right though, if someone were to try and likely succeed, it's Criterion.
My favourite used to be the club / police baton thing, knocking someone on the helmet a few times (I still remember that *tock* noise when you'd hit them) and then giving them a kick sending their bike careening into a wall or other stationary object.
Amazing soundtrack on the 3DO version too. I enjoyed quite a lot of titles on that machine...

the 3DO soundtrack was awesome. Got me into Monster Magnet.
There was NOTHING better than booting someone into an oncoming car.
I think even like a fun 'knock out' animation thing with some flashing scores on the screen would be great too...I think this could be a great 'over the top' game that is all about fun and ****ing your friends over.
I used to love playing split screen and booting my friends into an oncoming car only to have them throw their control at me and call me a ****bucket

Make a new Carmogeddon while they are at it!![]()
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.

In the O.P. video wtf is the guy doing behind the girl at 0:58? Looks like he's jackin' it.![]()

i loved all the versions of this game on Genesis. and it also turned me onto Soundgarden and grunge at the time.
i would totally get this, even if it was on XBL arcade. Hell, i'm having a ton of fun right now with Trials Evolution and Road Rash would be equally as fun IMO.

Played this on Sega Saturn. Loved the **** out of it. lol.
The one they ended up coming out with on PS1 (Road Rash 3D iirc?) was hardly as fun it seemed.

Or even get creative with the plot..... wow, creative. Is that allowed in entertainment anymore?
Like have the plot about a government agent (you, the game player) going in to this word undercover when the agency needs somebody to crack some evil organized crime lord's circle of friends where the leader always surrounds himself with the best motorcycle riders.

I actually bought Carmageddon for my brother (birthday) for the Mac back then just based on the game box.
At the time he had just moved to San Francisco and said he loved being able to run over pedestrians for points.
And he was never a serious gamer- so that game managed to reach people other than gamers (and Mac owners back then were usually the antithesis of gamers).
