I have some 17" BBS RC Audi wheels. The finish is starting to peel on one of them so I am going to go ahead and have the whole set blasted and powder coated.

My question for anyone who has black powder coated wheels is how much gloss should I get? The shop recommended either 80% (really shiny) or a 20% (more of a satin) gloss. The 80% he said will show small scratches easier. I'm not sure with the 20% if people will always think the wheels are slightly dirty.

For ease of maintenace which finish is better for a daily driver?

Just Plasti dip one of your wheels. That's what 20 will look like.

I had satin black on my cabrio, looked damn awesome.

It was between "Gloss Black" and "Matte Black" at AZ powdercoat. the actual name was "Satin Black". Didn't look super flat, always had a "wet" look to it

Thank you for the pictures! How does this wheel look in the sun?

I guess it is actually 90% Gloss that the shop has. I dropped the wheels off yesterday afternoon, so I have to wait and see now how they turn out.

How long after I pick them up should I wait before having the tires mounted? Or is there no need to wait?
