It took about 6 weeks for mine. I bought in late December 2010. My first payment was due mid-February 2011.

After buying your VW from a VW dealer (new or used) using VW Credit to finance, how long did it take before you received your first payment due bill? I bought a 2011 Tiguan from a VW dealer exactly a month ago today, and have yet to receive anything from VW credit regarding my payments. This is the 3rd VW I've bought and financed through VW Credit, and I don't remember it taking so long.... though the last time was about 7 years ago.
CURRENT:
2011 Tiguan SEL 3/12-present
PAST:
2002 Passat GLS 4/05-3/12
2002 Jetta GLS 1.8T (RIP) - 10/01-4/05

If the dealer did not send in the completed paperwork on time, your bill will be delayed. Your best bet is to call the dealership and see if the deal has been funded. If not, you may have to make your first payment to the dealer, and they will forward to VCI directly, or you can call VW and they may -- or may not -- have your Tiguan on record.
Hopefully it all works out! Try going to VCI's website and registering for online payments. You may be able to get in with the VIN and without an account number. I'm not sure though.
So let me get this straight? Your engine is 1.8-liters, and my pop is 2?

Good to hear! Just pay online. It's so much easier, and you don't have to wait for the stupid bill to come in the mail every month! And choose paperless billing. VW will send you a reminder about two weeks before payment is due.
Enjoy the Tiguan! I thought about that vehicle, but having driven a few as demos when I was selling VWs, I found that I didn't like the driving position. My legs need to be pretty straight out. That, and I wanted a stick but not a base car. :-) But it's a fantastic SUV that's fun to drive!!

When we purchased my vehicle in 2010, we didn't get our first bill until two months after the purchase date. I found this really funny considering that a lot of dealerships will "postpone" your first payment as an "incentive" to you for buying - - in my experience that's pretty standard. I wouldn't worry - - they'll make sure you get your bill!
