Is there any chance in HE double hockey stick that we (North America) get a 4 door manual w/o having to buy a GTI?
The 2DR version has never looked right to me aesthetically and I appreciate the added functionality of the extra 2 doors.
The last time it was offered was with the 2009 Rabbit and there were not many of those in the market.

OK, yes a TDI or a GTI both come with 4DRs, but I do not want to spend that kind of $. I was thinking of a plain gasser, even the basic 2.5L would be fine. Any news?

This may not help you much but 4 door Golfs are available in Canada with a 2.5L engine and 5 speed manual transmission. You can also get a sport package with sport seats, 17 alloy wheels and sport suspension on this 2.5L model.

No one knows this, you should be calling VWofA and asking about this. They are the one ones who got rid of this. Canada still gets the manual.
