I, like I'm sure many of you, love beer. So I came up with what I thought was a pretty damn brilliant idea. Year after year I see posts in this forum asking if someone will bring them a particular brew that is not offered in their area. So why not expand upon that?
The concept is simple: Bring your local microbrews or area favorite and trade them for something new and tasty. I see it as a great opportunity to try new things, meet some people, and of course, have another reason to drink.
If this sounds like something you would be interested in, post what you will be bringing! Requests can also be made in this thread. Don't be that guy who shows up with cans of PBR (not that I have against PBR, i love to hydrate).
Time and location will be announced later, assuming there is enough interest in this. I'm thinking early afternoon on Saturday, that way everyone isn't too wasted already to enjoy the varieties available.
EDIT:
SIGN UP ROSTER LOCATED HERE
We will meet at the Country Inn and Suites parking lot at 4PM on Saturday.

Well, you know I always bring a selection from the Fatherland and a supply from Pottsville.

I'll be bringing a few different selections from...
-Beach Brewing Company (Virginia Beach, VA)
--O'Connor Brewing (Norfolk, VA)
-Williamsburg AleWerks (Williamsburg, VA)
-Star Hill (Charlottesville, VA)
Pics to follow. I love me some Heavy Seas. Finished off a mix pack last night.

Oh I love Star Hill! Got to try some on vacation and it was delicious!

Beer is delicious. I think bud light has given it a bad name.
I love stouts and porters, but they can be a little too much sometimes. The Star Hill I had was a lager I think and it was just so perfect. Heavy Seas has a black IPA that is really really good. I don't generally like IPAs because they are so hoppy but that one was just right. Also summer wheat beers are an easy favorite. Cape Cod summer wheat is the one I really like but it's only available on Cape Cod. Maybe someone will be coming from that far north with a growler?

Good question. I am coming with my two kids so won't be doing a lot of day-time drinking.
We are staying at the Riverbend which looks like it has a nice little picnic area by the river, any interest in doing it there sometime late afternoon? (This is my selfish way to be able to participate, btw.)

I already have planned to bring 2 cases of Belgium beer (Palm and Bavik), but now I think I'm gonna have to bring a couple sample packs for this swap.
East End Sampler - Pittsburgh
Penn Brewery Sampler - Pittsburgh
Great Lakes Eliot Ness - Cleveland

This is an excellent idea! My wife and I are definitely in.
I'm in Columbus, Ohio.
I'll try to bring a couple from Columbus Brewing Company.
Maybe I can pick up a growler of something more rare before I leave town.
They make an awesome double IPA called Bodhi that's not being bottled yet.

Would love to share Rockmill Brewery with everyone. All Belgians, brewed on a farm just south of Columbus. Their Tripel is pretty good. Only comes in 750mL bottles.

There's definitely more I could bring.
I'm staying at the Helendorf.

Might bring some Cigar City brews if anyone is interested in swapping

Glad to hear there is some interest in this!
As of right now, I'm thinking we should hold it in the Country Inn and Suites parking area around 4PM. The hotel is within walking distance of the show grounds, has a large parking lot for those who are driving, and is right next to Big Daddy's for all the after-show ridiculousness. The trophy announcement starts at 3PM, so I'm assuming around 4PM should be perfect.
Suggestions is welcome. I would say we could just pick somewhere on the outskirts of the show grounds, but that could make for a lot of confusion, parking troubles, etc.
Pic for views...

Double IPA and Tripel Belgian you say? Make it happen my friend.
Quite a few of the craft beers out here only come in large bottles as well. I'll most likely have a few packs of solo cups to keep things even (and avoid any open container infractions)
Reference map for possible location. Yay or Nay?

If your sitting around your car, not much is said if your drinking out of a bottle, but for safety concerns and legal reasons, the "Red", not blue, not yellow, not black, not green or any other color SOLO cup will be accepted. Also for this event, the SOLO cup will hence be called the "SOWO" cup. Plastic sippy cups are accepted for the consumer that has difficulty balancing bier and oneself.

I'm going to be bringing a few selections from a local very small brewery this year. It's called jailhouse. Going to try to bring their stout and a few other ales they have.

My husband has been talking about bringing a keg. I will probably also get a variety pack of something because I like variety. We are in Baltimore, so if anyone has a particular desire for something from the area let me know and I will see what I can do. I'm thinking a keg of some Heavy Seas, Resurrection Ale from Brewer's art and....something else?

@Mr Lee
Are we doing the six glasses of Sixth Glass at SoWo? We should share this treat. I was thinking maybe some Double Wide or maybe some Dark Truth.
This stuff is reasonbly expensive, If I'm bringing 12 0z. bottles I would think its a one for one thing?
For example Dark Truth is an Imperial Stout, and about $10 a four pack, and worth every penny.
