i have been considering trading my 87 jetta coupe wolfsburg edition.
i am the 3rd owner and this car is stock, unmolested and basically rust free.
i am now in the process of buying a house, my gti needs some work, and due to other things in life, this car is no longer an option for me.
my job is going to be farther from my new house, so i could always trade for a daily to drive to work, plus i can always use the space of a wagon.
i have 2 spare 8v motors and accessories, which all comes with the car.
one came with the car, and i bought the other one.
my friend and i had plans on putting one of them in so it can be driven, and taking one apart and rebuilding it so it was like new, then we considered just going for the vr swap. but in reality, i do not have the money for any of this, maybe in a few years but not now.
allthough it does not currently run, this car is on the rare side and is in wonderfull condition. it just needs a motor put in it, which is very easy and inexpensive, plus i have everything for it.
this car is worth some money for what it is and the condition it is in, especially if i replace the motor.
i really dont want to see this car go, but i do not want to see this car sit until i have extra money.
i will keep it if i dont get what its worth or something of equal value. i know i will never find a coupe in this condition. anybody that know thier vws knows this is a gem, other people will just see a car that doesnt run
it was made in wolfsburg germany, it is also a wolfsburg edition.
-all wheel disc brakes
-sway bars front and rear
-rockers and frame are straight
-no rust or rot on strut towers, rockers, engine bay, gas tank, fenders, under car, ANYWHERE!! just some surface rust in few spots in the paint which were kinda touched up by po.
-interior is a 9/10
-headliner fully in tact
-seats are perfect besides some wear on drivers bolster
-dash has 2 small cracks
-doorcards are great
-carpets are great
-rear deck is great
-a/c and heat work, as well as the defrosters
-stock wheels, tires in great condition
-new brake lines
-new master cylinder
-battery recentlly replaced
-new plugs and wires
-exhaust is good
-all lights and turnsignals work
what it could use beside the motor swap:
-bleed the brakes
-shift bushings, have them
-moldings and bumpers can be brought back to black
