Hey guys, just got my Golf R. I want to get the under seat drawers but according to ECS they are not for vehicles with electric seats. The car only has power tilt. If anyone knows they fit or has them installed I would appreciate any info. Thanks.

They should fit. All you need is a rivet gun

Sounds like you're not in the US? Our cars here only have electric lumbar support and I believe there are a few guys that have installed the drawer without a problem. Can't comment on the non-US power seats though. For what it's worth, our A4 has power seats *and* the underseat drawer..

Sorry I'm not more help man

He prolly just has 4dr. 2dr has power lumbar, 4dr has power tilt, this has been addressed in a few threads already. I think it has been said that it will fit (but I'm not searching through threads to find a quote), the problem would be with power slide and base adjust. I have also heard that the rivet gun is unnecessary. That being said I also have a 4dr so I'm interested in an answer from someone who has tried this firsthand.

I have a 4 door and they are installed on my R. They will fit 2 door as well. Power seats is in reference to power slide, which no r has factory. Also they will not fit the oem recaros

I just installed the underseat drawers under both front seats on my R 4-door - no problems at all. Takes an hour at most.

Did you need the rivet gun?

no you need a 12 point driver to remove the seat and a torx20 to screw in the 4 screws.

Hmmm I think I might just have to do this mod... Too bad the drawers aren't lockable.

The instructions say to use a rivet gun, although one DIY (on ECS Tuning?) says you can screw into the plastic on the seat. I did use a rivet gun to install the bracket supplied with the kit using the 2 rivets from the kit. It makes the installation a lot more solid (in my opinion). It was very easy to do and the rivet gun was cheap.

Dealer installed mine; not sure if they used a rivet gun or not, but the drawers seem solid. Too bad they're so small though. But given the lack of storage space in the .:R, it's better than nothing.

Will a full sized pistol and spare mag fit in them? (Ruger P345 if you're familiar with it and the size)

I'm getting mine for a Walther PPS. Should fit from what I've read about the dimensions. Not sure about a full sized gun though.

I feel lame for buying mine for my glasses with all these guns being stored in them, haha. Mine just came in the mail and I am picking up the rivet gun and popping these in tomorrow night.

They're wide enough but probably not deep enough; think you only have about 4-5 inches
