Rod knock: Video inside

Hey all, so long story short I have had my vr for almost two years now. It currently has 163xxx miles on it and I think its time has come.

About a year ago my timing chain snapped and caused four bent valves, because of where I was financially I just slapped four new valves in and called it a day. Things where good for a while but then it started to develop a pretty loud lifter tick.

A few days ago I parked my car and when I went to go start it the next morning I heard this.



Basically im just looking for a second opinion. I posted this video in my build thread over in the mkIII forums but did not get many responses.

Sounds like a large exhaust leak tick... how does it sound wile driving?

Well that seems to be the issue.

Me and a friend checked it out and I guess I never tightened it down properly when it was time to re-install everything.

We only got to a few bolts because the car was hot but after just a few there was a noticeable difference.

I just like to jump to conclusions.
