Wheel bearings I suspect
#1
Well, as far as the lugnuts are concerned. At least 2 of my wheels, the drivers side rear and passenger side front, can be "shaken" by hand. Checked all the lugnuts, and they seem tight. Aftermarket wheels, spacers in the rear, wheels have the hubcentric ring inserts in them...
Any ideas?
Thanks...
I wouldnt hurt a fly. Unless it kept buzzing around in my face, and annoying me.

My old '83 did this as well.
Not sure f it's normal, but it never gave me any problems.

Check if your wheel bearings, track rod ends (inner and outer side) are knocked out. Most problems come from here...
If not, check also the ball joints on the wishbones and your camber plates.
Camber plates have to be checked by charged wheels and uncharged wheels. The clearance should be very small...
I´m sure you will find your problem quick...![]()

If they're aftermarket wheels, do your bolts have the proper seat?

On the thought of lug bolt seats, I learned there is more to it than just "conical" or "ball". There is also the angle of the face of the seat. I went through this putting Porsche Phone Dials on my 81 Scirocco.
I have also experienced the bearing thing too. The rears can be snugged up and adjusted but the front bearings are sealed and would need replaced. Especially front bearings give you "audible notice" when they are not happy, a rumbly growl or drone when you turn the car and shift the load onto the offending bearing.

I would also check the big 32mm nut on the axle shaft for the front wheel...
