1988 Fox GL 4-door, 4 speed. Located in Williamsburg, Virginia. Current Virginia inspection. Fun, reliable and driven regularly.

    New in the past year:

-Techtonics exhaust, high-flow cat converter, dual downpipe (with VW Dasher manifold)
    -Techtonics 268 cam
    -93 Fox big throttle body
-Bilstein struts/shocks, Weitec 60/40 springs for a Corrado, new USBs
    -Autopal H4 headlamps
-034 motor mounts and HD front mount
-New timing belt, alternator belt, valve cover gasket
    -4 new injectors
-New air filter, cap and rotor, spark plugs
    -New 02 sensor
    -Coolant Temp Sensor
    -Redline MTL in the transmission
-New front pads, rotors and rubber brake lines. Entire brake system flushed with Ate Super Blue fluid
-3 of 4 wheel bearings replaced
    -Front end alignment
-More, I'm sure, that I am forgetting

Body is very good for its age overall. Very little rust. The hood has some paint imperfections. The driver's side rear door and quarter panel had been repaired/painted at some point and were not painted well. There is some very minor surface rust in this area. The rest of the car is rust free.

Interior is good overall as well. A PO smoked in the car so there are a couple of cigarette burns in the front seats. There's a little bolster wear on the DS front seat. Otherwise, it's pretty nice.

    The bad:
    -Odometer doesn't work
-I pulled the AC. You can have the good compressor if you want it.
-The car runs well, but does not pull as strongly as it could IMO. I set the timing by ear, so it needs to be properly timed. The car runs a lot better than it did when I bought it. It's getting there, but needs just a little more fine tuning. (EDIT 6/23/12: I redid the timing belt; it was off a tooth. Car runs great now.)
-Leaks and burns some oil. Not too badly, though.
-The water pump has weeped a little bit since I bought the car. A new WP is included, but not installed.
-The trunk leaks a little in heavy rain. A new seal would fix this. The rest of the interior doesn't leak at all

The car comes with BMW bottlecap wheels that need new tires or with the OE steel wheels and hubcaps that have nearly new tires. (EDIT 6/23/12: It comes with the bottlecaps only now and I just had brand new Bridgestone Comp T/A Super Sport A/Ss mounted and balanced.)

It does not come with the roof rack that's pictured.

I really don't want to sell this car, but I have two Foxes and one other vehicle. I'll gladly sell you my 93 Fox instead. It needs more work, but has potential. I figured the 88 would be more appealing to buyers as its almost done.

$1,950 and I'm pretty firm on it for now. It also has to go to a good home and preferably one with a garage. If this -- the price and conditions -- is asking too much, I'll just keep it for now.
