Buying a S4 with low compression in 1 cyl. The previous owner had his friend come over with a boroscope and he saw pitting on the cylinder but no holes, so I assume it's either a burnt valve or head gasket. I would like to do it without pulling the motor if possible. Anyone have a write up or DIY post?

Pull the motor. I just pulled mine due to leaky valve stem seals in the heads and I couldnt imagine getting the passenger side head off without pulling the motor.
