Thread: Need Insurance info

  1. 04-23-2012 12:12 AM #1
As the title says I need insurance info. I want to insure a mk2 jetta coupe when I get it and all the quotes I get are $8000-$12000 per year. I'm 20 years old with a super clean driving record and have recently (March) got my full G. Where do you guys go for insurance?

8-12k? Does the car have a maserati motor swap or something?

A lot of your rate is determined by the region in which you reside.
Etobicoke is pretty high as far as I know but those figures sound ridiculous. Who fed you these numbers?

    Did you attend driving school?

MK2 coupes are also pretty rare, maybe they gave you completely garbage figures because they have little to no background statistics on them.

I'm with TD meloche monnex, by the way.

I use INTACT and have a good rate. Even when I was 22 with an mk3 the highest quote I got was 5K..

I have a '95 Jertta GLX and my regular insurance company was getting antsy about insuring such an old car. I got a proper appraisal done and have insured with Lant (www.lant.ca)under their Silver Wheels policy. Only approx. $350 per year. Check them out. If you need more info give me an IM

It all really depends on where you live and the insurance company.
    I personally pay $135, 22yrs old with 1 accident with my 02 GTI 24v VR6.

My brother who is 20yrs old, clean record driving his 92 Jetta 8v pays $199.

U have to have 10 years driving experience and another daily driver. Lant can't insure me cause of those I called a few years back for a 71 chevelle
