Hi Everyone! Proud papa of a brand new bouncing baby V6 SE. She's my first Passat and I love her very much.
I've read about the bluetooth mono audio issue, which I'm experiencing as well. Hopefully, that can be resolved soon. Using an aux cable in the meantime. More annoying, to me, is that when I connect my phone via bluetooth the media player starts playing automatically. Does anyone else have this issue or know how to stop it?
If it matters: Motorola Photon 4G (Sprint MB855). Media players are Google Music app and/or Winamp.

Strange... auto play is not enabled, but it auto plays anyway.

I have a V6 SE as well, and I have the exact same issue. For me unchecking autoplay doesn't solve the issue and neither does unpairing the phone as a media player because that is a non-persistent setting and the media player re-pairs every time you start the vehicle. My solution: remove all the songs from my phone. It is a sucky solution but it works. I dusted off my ipod nano and use that for workouts.

Welcome to the club! I'll bet your radio is playing in mono while using bluetooth also. Nobody can get anyone at their dealer or VW corporate to admit there is a problem. I think everyone that has a RCD 510 version 3 ( has phone button ) is having the same issue. I also think a lot of them have no idea it is happening.

SE V6's? This means y'all have either the RCD 510 or the RNS 315 right?
I have the RNS 510 and mine auto played until I unchecked auto play and it works for me. The phone pairs, I can see the player icon on my phone, however it doesn't play.

Have same issue. Every time I get in my car I have to press media button then BT-Audio and press pause......automatically plays no matter what. I have the autoplay unchecked. Very annoying to do every time.

I'm getting this too on my RCD510 / iPhone 4s. It doesn't bother me much other than it probably runs the battery in the phone down faster.

Autoplay on my Android (HTC EVO) keeps re-enabling every connect. Very frustrating. :/
I just want to have PHONE audio... not use it as a media player thru BT.

You can go into the bluetooth module with VCDS and turn off the media player part completely.

Hi All, yep Autoplay is a small annoyance, my other gripe is:- on my ex Ford with SYNC when BT was operating there was an audible alert for incoming e-mails, does the BT system on my 2012 SE have anything like that?

Yeah I have the same problem - iPhone 4 here. The only sure-fire workaround I've found is to manually disable the Media Player (or what ever the option is called) in the Bluetooth settings.
Not a terribly annoying problem other than it artificially runs the battery down. Definitely should be fixed by VW.
