Hey guys, new to the TDI forums, just purchased a mk4 tdi jetta and was just wondering what everyone is running for chips, I've had a few 1.8t's and a a3 2.0t that I've always gone with APR, do they have software for the TDI? thanks everyone.

First thing you should do to that car as far as performance upgrades are concerned is a set of nozzles. Nice bump in hp/trq plus a bonus fuel economy gain. If that's not enough for you then get a chip tune.. I'd probably stick with the guys that have been doing this for years over a company that mainly goes gasser.. TDTuning, Malone, Rocketchip, etc etc. Can't go wrong with any of them.

Most important what tranny and how many miles.

You really should make sure the car is 100% before you start the Mod slope.

Thanks guys, the car is pretty solid so far. I'm not looking to heavily mod the car, just looking for a quick gain of hp/tq and some mileage gain. The car is a daily for the wife.

Any tips on some online sources for any of those chips?

    Unitronic is another good one.

You can just search for any of the companies online. They should each be able to tell you if there is a local place that will do the tune for you (like my mechanic is a Uni dealer).

Take a look at the Forum Sponsor at the top of the page. Mark is one of the respected tuners.

Sounds like you're the perfect candidate for a set of nozzles.
