Thread: 2003 20th Jazz Blue

  1. 04-23-2012 04:28 PM #1
2003 Jazz Blue 20th Anniversary Edition GTI
    Current Mileage: 62,500 Updated
    Location: Redmond, Or
    Price: $13,000 SOLD(Sorry. No trades)

Thanks for the intrest with the calls and texts! But I am getting out of the VW game, I won't accept any trades. The ones that were offered were very clean, very nice cars and I appreciate the good words! Thanks all!

I am trying to change up the DD. Something to go with my 67 coupe mustang. This 20th is a super clean and very well taken care of. I love the 240hp and 35-38mpg. and the handling is amazing. The FK coils and wheel spacers really give it a tough stance, while not being to low to drive daily. The APR tune (tuned by Futrel Auto works) has 3 settings (stock, Premium, and 110 race fuel) but outside of dyno runs, I have never changed it from the premium tune. Only non-ethanol premium is run in the car. Front and rear sway bars, rear strut bar, H&r wheel spacers, under drive & light wieght pullies, Rear drilled and slotted brakes, Full miltek exhaust, Forge diverter and CAI. All this on top of the OEM features offered on the 20ths. The car sounds, looks, and drives amazing. There is a CL ad for anyone who may be interested! Thanks all! email, call pm or reply, if you need or want any info.

The car had alot of the work done when I bought it and I have pretty much just been maintaining whats there. outside of some little things like de-badging and the like. #1655 (I believe only 1,000 built in Jazz blue) It is sitting at 62,5xx miles, and gets serviced every 3,000 miles, strictly. WP and TB replaced by previous owner at 55k +/-. When he had the mods installed under hood. The tires where put on 2 months ago by america's tire. And the H&R spacers where installed last fall, and the polished, rear strut bar (between the rear seat belt brackets) was installed in Feb. My email is Chopsaw78@yahoo.com.

So what exactly does this car have that gives it 240hp? Chip, CAI and exhaust wont get you 60hp.

    35+mpg

Previous owner Did nearly $10k in upgrades, I dont have the exact details this second, so I havent put them up. (parts/part#, date/shop installed, etc) I try not to miss lead anyone with partial info. At the dyno day in hillsboro 2 years ago, he dyno'd it at 238hp, 230tq. on the 91 octane tune at 18psi. I dont have documenation yet, and currently in contact with him, to get it. For reciepts, dyno sheets, etc. Everything has been installed by professionals, nothing done in the driveway, no corners cut. We both are very busy (he runs a very busy business and I work for a Pharm. research company) and our schedules havent lined up to get over to his place (in a different city). And I average 35mpg per tank on non-ethanol premium. I dont drive it hard as I bought it from a friend, to replace a truck that got 12mpg. And it was a sweet car. Just a DD for me not a race car, not a hobby, not a passion. And nearly all my driving is HWY, to and from work. so I imagine if someone was to drive it more in town, it would prolly drop into the 20's. The car needs to go to a VW enthusiest who will appreciate all the work that has gone into it and for what it is. It is a rare car. Its like if some one was driving a Detroit classic, but had a passion for VW. They would always be left wanting. Mine is opposite. It is an awesome car that should sit in your garage and get babied and taken to V.A.G. shows/events. Not driven through the mundane, to work and back.

Honestly, I can appreciate all the mods... but KBB only hits that car at $8500. I can see asking more if in exceptional shape.... Which requires alot more pictures than you have. You have the highest asking price I have found so far but your closest to me... Can you hook us up with some more detailed pics... any flaws? scratches cracks curbing tears? Thanks man

It does have some rubbing on the very bottom of the front lip and some minor rock chips on the front from winter driving this year. no dings or dents. I will get some new/detailed pics as soon as my schedule allows. Pulling 70- 80 hour work weeks is killing "living life" time...

I tried to sell my Black Magic 20th ann. five years ago. Nobody believed the mileage and one chick thought it needed leather seats Carfax and my local dealer botched the miles at an oil change and I didnt catch it. Proofs in the pudding though...nine yrs. old w/ only 35K! No mods like you though.

Carfax is a gimmick anymore. Just another excuse for dealers to rip you off with a trade in and turn around and sell it full price. Anything you report to insurance, gets put on carfax. We learned that with my wife's last Ford edge. We had the front bumper painted for the rock chips and it was called a "minor accident" on the report.

This car is clean inside and out. Pics don't do it justice. I seen it in person and rode in it a few times and I can say it is very well put together.

Corey don't let these guys beat you down on the price either the price you're asking is very fair.

Hit me up this weekend so we can get some pics shot before you sell this thing.

My stage 2+ 1.8t passat would get 35 mpg if I milked it, and that was without a 6th gear.

HA! The spacers finish the look, tho! Maybe i will sell them to ya! And I just got back from a 4 day coast trip and averaged 28 while driving from town to town thursday friday and 33.8mpg over the pass coming home.

Mk2s and Mk3s go for 2-3 times their Kbb value all the time
This is a rare car and will be bought by an enthusiast.
    Kbb means nothing.

+1 And not just with VW's. Some mustangs, Camaros, and others are all going higher than book. Kbb lost its edge years ago. I have had more offers higher than 12k than I know what to do with! and some for even more if you add thier trade. It is a part time job keeping up with messages, voicemails, and calls.

I am getting the paperwork filed today on the sale, so I feel we are about 90% sure it will be gone saterday to a fella who is real excited about it!
