Thread: funky noise..

    hey whats up guys! so i hear this funky noise when i drive my car but only when i turn the wheel , when i turn left or right, it sounds like the steering is making a noise, but ONLY when i turn. i cant realy describe the noise.. any one now what it can be?thanks guys

    you need to be more descriptive, but my first thought would be strut bearings. pretty common for them to be noisy on mk4s and they tend to need to be replaced fairly often

    ya i figured i probally wasnt being to descriptive. idk if it helps , but this noise started happening after i installed coilovers.

    front strut mounts/bearings is a possibility

    the bearings?i will have to look at them tommorow. foolish question,but how would i no if its the bearings? and im not shure if it helps , but this noise started after 3 days of riding with the new coilovers in

    make sure the top of the front struts, under your hood are completely on right. if theyre a little loose/off itll make that clunking noise

    yeah that happened to me, the top hat was loose made a clunking noise, i went and tightened it, and noise was gone

    yeah happened to me too, so hopefully this is the case for this one and its an easy fix.

    both! , when im driving and turning left or right, the clunking noise is pretty loud. i can also hear it to , when im in park and just turning the wheel( well the other day atleast when the car was in park and i turn the wheel it was making that noise, but not as loud as when turning when driving)

    If you didn't replace the mounts and bearings when you put in coilovers then I'd start there.
