Is there fuel pressure? A failed pump will not cause a code. Is there spark?

Car was fine then decided to sputter out and die. Now it will just turn over, and do nothing else. It's done the whole no start thing before and if I cleaned the maf and wiped the tb clean it would fire right back up. But haven't had to do that for a month or so. Aside of that, the intake boot/filter seem to be pretty wet. Btw, this isn't my car, a friend of mine. Just posting up to try n get a quick solution..
He got it towed and I scanned it and here are the readings:

I looked them up... O2 stuff, coolant temp, and evap/small leak. But would any of that really cause it not to turn start? I'm not very 2.0 friendly or mechanically inclined to know everything to look for/at, so any help would be more than appreciated! Thanks in advance to anyone with some input!

Tradition is the art of making the same mistake repeatedly, on purpose.

#1 Check the fuses using a voltmeter, don't assume that they're good because you can't see a break.
When you turn the ignition key to the start position, does the starter turn the engine at the normal speed?
Does it turn faster than normal (faster than normal indicates broken timing belt)?
Does the tach needle bounce (if not, bad crank speed sensor)? If the tach needle bounces, the ECU should be good, you need to check for spark, and if no spark, then suspect the ignition coil.

Check for spark and fuel pressure. When you figure out which is missing, diagnose further.
And register your VCDS-Lite. It'll be worth every penny and then some. Why is the car identified as Golf/Jetta II? If it's a 1996, it should be 1H -Golf/Vento III.

Thanks guys! Btw not really sure why it came up as golf/ jetta II.. I didn't notice that before. But it ended up being a combination of bad grounds and a few other minor bits. Thanks again for the input!
