The MK5 GTI is a great jack of all cars... I miss my 2007 4 Door.

Good news is the info we have gotten on the MK7 looks promising.

I feel for you, I did the same thing almost two years ago, I had a 2007 GTI 2 door. My wife wanted a JSW for the family hauler, we got one, but it proved too small. So out went my GTI and in came a Routan. I'm DD the JSW now, it's at least a manual so it's decently fun to drive. I still miss my MKV GTI though, I keep looking through the used cars, but I know deep down it's probably not worth trading in the JSW for one.

I think this thread illustrates very well how VW was able to recreate the bond between man and machine with the MKV/MKVI that was pretty absent in the MKIII and MKIV generations.

I have owed 3 VWs (MK3, MK4, and MK5), and the ONLY car that I miss is the MK5.

If German cars can have a soul (), then I think the MK5 managed to have one. It's a car that I miss, and I miss the good times I had with it.
      I TCL.

I saw my old Miata last Saturday.

Pulled up next to an older guy that said he bought it at auction. I guess the used car lot had problems selling a 12 year old Miata. We talked for a minute at the light, said he hadn't had any problems yet, I said he probably wouldn't, I went through it shorty before i sold it. New radiator/brakes/hoses/filters, etc.

Like seeing and old friend. It's good to know the guy is local and drives on the main streets so I can maybe see him around town.

I love my mkv and plan on keeping it till it dies. I have never been so attached to a car, it has a little of everything utility, sporty, comfort etc. Pic of the mistress-

I really liked my mkV GTi and have some fond memories of it. I was definitely a bit sad when I got rid of the car, but I've since gotten over it. While I liked the GTI and would recommend it to someone like myself, I certainly don't wish I still had it. Onward and upward for me.

Don't tell it how much you care, show it. The exhaust is there for a reason.

Felt the same when I sold my SVT Focus. Took it out the day before and ran the ever living piss out of it one last time, no music, just windows down and at full throttle for a good hour or so. Good times

Looking to get hitched and buying a house in a few months, so the extra bit of $ helps. I just figure there's no point owning two cars.

You'll get over it. They are good cars, but whenever you figure out what you want to buy down the road, it'll be better than it.

And, if you feel you still need a MkV back, I'll sell you mine.
