Car to share what you used? I'm thinking of doing this and it seems the general consensus, unless you want to spend $25+, is to use a $2 one from Lowe's and some silicon to seal.

This is the best route. It comes in a textured black, but nothing a little paint can't fix...

That's all I used. From a distance you can't even tell it's there...assuming you have your back glass tinted.

Here is a picture immediately after I finished it quite some time ago

Haha it's all been trimmed and de-panda'd. That picture is well over a year old

$2? Im pretty sure the piece I got from lowes came with 2 in a pack for under $1.25 with tax. I cant remember the size or part # though since I through the plastic package away.

I think this is what you have, 7/8" comes in a two pack, 1" comes in a single pack, both are $1.39. Picture on the site is pretty awful but it looks like it would work perfectly.

What all else is involved in doing this aside from removing the wiper and disconnecting the motor?

I have contemplated doing this for quite some time and then the rain comes.

Is it just remove wiper, disconnect motor, and apply the plug from Lowe's?

I think I might like it more if I could control it, but on my stalk for wipers its front only and I think the back goes when the front is engaged and you go in reverse? A rear wiper is not going to save me from reversing in a haboob!

So yeah, out it goes, a $1.39 plug and some silicon.

I would like to commend everyone for keeping this thread clean. I restrained myself, several times, from making inappropriate comments about plugs of the sexual nature.

@Becker, if you push your stalk towards the dash does it engage? or maybe it is already engaged and you need to pull the stalk back towards you....?

So all I need to do is unplug wiper motor and plug her up? With all the computer crap in the newer cars, will I trigger some kind of idiot light for a disconnected rear wiper motor? I'm being serious. :-/

its a easy removal and i went one step further and tried to remove the rest of the fluid in the lines, then plugged the end of the washer tube. Nothing should really come out, as there is no motor to run the system any longer. Its maybe a 45 min all said and done thing. Just let the silicone set in place for several hours so it can harden.

I was caught in it lol. The crazy thing is one minute it can look fine outside, as you can see where the camera guy is standing, its fine, but 30 seconds later is mayhem. Its kinda cool, unless you're on the freeway, see it coming and BAM! Ah crap lol.

I had similar experiences with dust storms in Afghanistan too. Had a few that looked like that, and had one hit at night. It's crazy when you look at a part of the sky and it's jet black, no stars, no nothing, then wham, you're blind and getting shoved around haha
