So has anyone else thought of getting the SEL fender flares and 19" Savannahs and throwing them on your SE? My wife is prolly gonna think I'm but I think it would be the best of both worlds... The upgraded SEL look without the harsh ride, unnecessary options, and associated sticker price.

However, ECS has a ton of fender flare kits for the car, but it's kind of confusing which one is "correct"... To make it worse, a set of 19" Savannahs (BNIB) are kind of ridiculous right now, so someone let me know if they're planning to get aftermarket rims for their SEL

edit: oh, and throw the Zenon headlamps in there too!

You're not the only one. By the time you'll do all the upgrades you'll be very close to what an SEL would have cost you.

    Example:

    1- Savannah wheels/tires $1500.00+
    2- fender flares $500-600
3- Xenon Headlights $1500 (if lucky)+ auto leveling sensors, wiring $600+

To sum it all up you'll have to cough up $4,000+ (I am not even including labor) for the upgrades which will bring you to the SEL price point without having an SEL that comes with bunch of other features standard.

Yeah, that's what I figured... I could probably do with just the wheels and flares, which isn't as bad but still.

I'll have to evaluate this option in another year or so when prices come down some.

Id' say start with the flares then keep your eyes open for the good deal on wheels. I recently posted a link from eBay on savannah's with tires almost brand new for $900 starting bid or buy it now $1200 (sold now), there is another member who is selling his Savannah's right here on this forum. Also browse eBay.de for deals on Xenons, here is one for you: http://www.ebay.com/itm/120809955085...84.m1423.l2649. Good Luck!

cool - thanks! I saw the ad for the guy w/ the 2-tone Savannah's, but I kind of prefer the version with the uniform color.

I like two tones + you'll see less break dust. If you get them for the right price you can always refinish them in any color you like. Plasti-dip comes to mind
