usp test pipe question

so i finally got around to installing my usp test pipe on my 2.5 jetta but the pipe did not come with a exhaust hanger or anything do you guys think i should take the one off the stock pipe ( the hanger before the cat) and weld it the the test pipe or do you think it would be ok without the clamp? any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks!

You're gonna want that hanger.

i doubt it will make a difference, ive been running a header without that hanger for 2 years with no issues. the guy at the exhaust shop that made my cat back said it wouldn't matter.

i emailed them the same question when I got mine.

they said they found the pipe doesn't need that hanger. the flex pipe is very sturdy and will be fine without it.

i however believe that the exhaust would drone less with the addition of that exhaust hanger, correctly installed in the right position.

my exhaust tips moved enough to bang on my tow bar. the mechanic told me the pipe was a little too long. my mechanic also told me the flex pipe is super strong and he didn't think the hanger was needed.

I had my local exhaust shop weld a pair in. Mind definitely had a rattle!
