Cliffs -
Guy hand builds sports car, takes it on first drive. Goes 3/10ths of a mile to gas station and some clodhopper in his unsinkable Titanic of Epic Overcompensation backs into it.
Lessons Learned:
-Large trucks and SUVs should be banned for the public's safety.
-Cars you truly care about this much should never be driven on the street.
-Insurance is important.

The sports car owner seems like the biggest douche I have ever heard
#7
The car owner is the importer and US reseller of the kit.
Was is real, or staged for publicity?
Discuss.

I wouldn't say he's a douchebag. Its the heat of the moment, you're in a panic and you're not really concentrating on saying the proper words. I mean, I yelled something along those lines when a guy backed into my Jetta with his Escalade (ib4dudeitsjustaJetta) but I mean I didn't berate the guy for hitting me, or was even rude for that matter, just obviously upset. That's probably what happened in this video.
Just my 2 cents...

For some reason my first instinct was that it was staged for some reason. If its true this guy is a retailer of a kit, I definitely think it was staged.

There's a whole lot of judging going on in here. Clearly the Expedition owner wasnt paying attention, but the guy driving the kit car also looks like he parked right behind it. With their stupid powers combined this incident happened.
He cussed, oh no. Dont you holier than thou types try to tell me you wouldn't yell, scream or cuss if your brand new project car got hit by some idiot in thier family barge.
All that said this incident isn't worth the thread made for it, barely any damage was done to either car and no one was hurt. Blah.

I'd have to say that when some lady paying more attention to her conversation with her passengers than to her driving turned left directly in front of me on my precious vintage motorcycle, resulting in a fair bit of damage (I only got a sore wrist), my language was most certainly NSFW, too.
Only fix for this that I can think of is that if any language comparable to "I didn't see him" comes out of the at-fault driver's mouth at any time, the translation is "I didn't look hard enough" (ALWAYS) and the translation of that is "careless / dangerous driving", and the translation of that is jail time ...

Most of the car is barely above bumper height, so of course it's difficult to see. It might even be more likely to be unseen than a motorcycle.
#19
That isn't a hit. That is a lovetap or a minor bump.
I got rear ended with likely the same minimal force a few weeks back and I didn't cuss or bash any heads. Sh*t happens and like others have pointed out it appears he was parked behind a big SUV. Reap what you ____.

that would be heartbreaking but he seemed ready with the expletives.. It wouldn't surprise me if it were fake. He said nothing when the guy was backing towards it but waited til contact?
I would have at least been saying "abubuur baleaay ahhhh STOP!!!!"
if its real, it stinks.
if its fake, it stinks
I would love to build my own car though.![]()

Yeah minor hit, doesnt matter. A minor hit is a big deal to me and many others on this "enthusiast" forum. Just because you don't get angry when somone damages your hard work doesn't mean that nobody cares.
I pointed that out, it looked like the car owner parked in a dumb spot.
I'm laughing to myself though, over all the people in here that seem to be so offended that he cussed. They're words just like any other, they have as much power as you place in them. Yes, it's very inappropriate in public situations, but it's hard to choose your words in a knee jerk reaction. Curse words are as much a part of the English language as any others.

These type of comments=
How about kids running around mommys car at the gas station? I see it all the time, one od them drops their binky boo between (in this case both suvs) as it backs up into the other one and we end up with a watered...melon.
EMT friend has a call where a woman in a large SUV ran over their kid, pushed the intestines out..D0A

Supposedly, the guy was filling up gas when the guy backed into the car, so he didn't see that the expedition guy was backing into his car.
And yea, if I'd just worked my ass off to build a car that somebody drove into, I'd probably be super pissed and curse the guy out.

Dunno if I can agree on that.
Cuss words don't make movies better for me. Don't make watching a sports game any better. And I can loss my job if I ever take a tone like that guy. So no the only big deal I see is the dudes response. His words are not going to get his car repaired any faster.

That's right, it is. It is because it offends some people. Maybe it doesn't offend the guy himself, maybe it doesn't offend you, but he doesn't know wheather or not it will offend anyone in the setting that he's in so he shouldn't say it. That's not being holier that though, it's the bear minimum of being a decent member of society. As for the kids, yes, I'm sure they'll hear that sort of language just as much as you or I do and considering their age they probably don't even know what it means. However, not cursing in front of children isn't all for the children's benefit, most of it is for the good of the parents.
