Love the Aero front end with badgless. Reminds me of my first Mk2.

Learn to claybar if you haven't already, and get some good wax for after. If that paint has the life in it that the pictures imply, you will love the difference!

    Welcome to Mk2landia...

I can't even respond to this thread properly so I will just say nice dub, have fun, and watch out for your VAG... mine got cranky right after I bought it and had to be replaced.

My friend taught me how to claybar, he showed me the difference before and after.. Made the paint look incredible.. About half of my car is done.. Haha
@motaboy it's a 1.8 8v.. Stock- haven't gotten that far yet. I used to have a 92 gti with a g60 swap supercharged.. Would like to do that again.. It was so damn quick.
@rimstretcher if you're gonna throw around an acronym like VAG..... At least educate me

Sup girl... make sure you wax that after you clay it. Claying gets all the contaminant off. But if you don't wax it right after, contaminant just builds back on, and quick.

Waxing will prevent contaminants from sticking to your paint. You'll find that it's much easier to wash your car, and much easier to keep your car clean between washes when waxed up.

VAG is just your dub. mk2 volkswagens were the last of the VW's made under Volkswagen's self titled name V.A.G. from the 70's till the mk3 where they just went to Volkswagen a.g... Also there is a diagnostic tool called a vag-com used by service companies for pre obd vehicles but I think it includes obd 1 & 2 now. Anyone feel free to correct me. And I was just pretty much being a dirt bag as usual by saying that.

Yeah... but at least I've learned something else new today, you've balanced your dirt bag-ness.....out

    Thanks for the explanation

Welcome to the forums. Car looks good. A lot of people are trimming their fenders to get rid of rubbing issues.
Disregard my new username and low post count, I've been here for a long time I just can't get onto my old account...

I don't know why everyone wants their mk2s an inch off the ground. You all must live in cities with no pot-holes or speed bumps . Nice car though. I like the stock look. btw if you do find flares, scoop them up without thinking about it. A good set can be hard to find. I bought my car in september and just found some flares that weren't outrageously priced a couple of weeks ago

$524.44 for a set of new g60 flares. they are expensive but worth it if you can afford them.

it looks cool and I guess folks like to compete whos lower. I did get puller over just cause of that once and cop stuck his hand under my front flare saying "I see what you did here"
got a double ticket that time, exhaust was shiney!

Not really sure. I think he got tired of the scene in general, which I can completely relate to.
