I don't know much about TDI upgrades. I definitely know there are intakes and exhausts out there.

One thing you should look out for is APR's chip. It is coming out soon and should be pretty good performance for the money.

ya diesels are new to me, so i'm noticing that some of the "standard" tuning items is different than a gasser.

here's a good article that explains some good TDI upgrades, and how they relate to each other.

rocketchip is your best bang for your buck. Or Malone Tuning, REVO, Unitronic. They all offer chips, do your research and make a informed decision.

I got the Revo stage 1 ecu flash and it's okay but nothing mindblowing. You'd probably have more fun spending $400 at a strip club. Actually, that's guaranteed.

I've read that just an exhaust won't get you much in terms of power on these TDIs, just sound. Unless you go straight downpipe/DPF delete, but in doing that IMO you're asking for trouble or relegating yourself to track days to stay legal.

did you dyno before/after? I'm wondering if you are realizing gains like what the REVO site says: +45 bhp gain +53 lbft torque gain

That sounds like a good time to me not comparing it to a sc, though i can guarantee i'll never spend $400 at one!

I didn't do a dyno before and after, mainly 'cause they cost like $125 each for fwd and I don't even know where there is one around here. So that'd add ~ $250 onto the price to check what the gains are.

I think part of the issue may be with the DSG which could be limiting torque. But I haven't noticed much of an improvement from the ecu flash. Plus, REVO is being bought by or has been bought by or is heavily partnering with STaSIS and they don't even return calls or emails anymore. So I wouldn't give them the $$ for a marginally beneficial "improvement".

What I would recommend, instead, with the $400, is ... well ... it'll be fun for sure.
