i have a 2000 vw jetta with the 2.0 in it. i just got the transmission rebuilt. i have the trans lined up and ready to bolt up but i cant line up the torque converter bolts. when i turb the engine by handd the converter turns with the flywheel. thanks in advance
First, make sure the converter is all the way engaged in the tranny. If it it sticking out, then you will damage the pump and converter. All the converter studs should be below the edge of the bellhousing before even trying to line it up.
Second, never use the bellhousing bolts to pull the tranny to the engine. This will damage the above or more.
There are only 3 converter bolts, you should have them close before even trying to bring the tranny up to the engine.
I reached into the starter hole to move the converter a bit while mating my tranny to the engine.
