Well I had some problems when I went to get some tires for my 04. I went in for two tires and their retarded "tech" put the car in first instead of reverse and ram the front into the sidewalk

So after 3 weeks of fighting with these damn people, I finally got my car fixed. I had a Bora R bumper waiting to be painted and go on the car that had been waiting for months so I got it painted and installed for free haha

Here is how it came out

BTW: Never go to NTB!!!! They won't man up to their mistakes and then try to say your car had damage already if they damage something!!!

I did a little work on the 89. Just wrapped the sunroof plastic part with some Carbon Fiber thing since the "fabric" was already pretty loose (sorry for the cell pics)
Here is how it started and turned out

Maybe I'll get more done this weekend. Been busy with work and moving stuff haha

    Cheers!

Looks good so far. I hope you have come to your senses about painting a helios red. I'd say sell it to someone who wants a helios before you paint it if that's what you want to do.

as far as your headliner goes im almost 100% positive you can get a brand new headliner for almost any car on ebay??? and im even more positive you can get one directly from Volkswagen???? and there are a thousand and one body companies out there who provide such things as well, or is there some reason you are trying to use the orignal head liner?

Mainly to save money, but if worse comes to worse, then I'll try to find a good one that's for sale. I don't think volkswagen would sell one for this car tho, I could be wrong. I couldn't even find the OEM lock set when I called the guy with the part number.

If you know of where I can get it, please let me know

Well I cleaned up a bit the wire mess

Started with this (sorry for cell pics)

    and finished it like this

Now it sits somewhat normal. Still a little tilted but you can actually see the fuses. You couldn't before.

I also found those two red wires not plug into anything (the two red ones on the second pic) I'm sure they are power wires, one comes from the engine bay, the other one comes out of the fuse box. There was also a couple connectors that had nothing connected to it. A yellow wire with snap connector, a blue wire with same connector), black wire with number 1 written on it (look like speaker wire?), and a white/clear connector. I didn't take pictures of any of the wires because it was hot and just wanted to finish (around 2-3 in texas isn't fun)

Also really bummed that I'm moving soon and I might need to store the 89 due to not being able to get a garage it might have to sit at my dad's for a while

I started protecting all the wires in the dashboard with plastic covers instead of the falling apart foam. I'll take some pictures soon and put them up to show how it looks.

All the covering on the wires of my dash was falling apart so just covered with plastic covers. Here is how it turned out

    Out with the old

Also cleaned the air vents and and plastic covers for the steering wheel
    before

    after

Manage to put the dash back in. It got dark so no pictures but it's coming back together at least

At least I had some entertainment by my good ol Panasonic radio

Nice thread! You have the rarest GLi really.. ABS & Cruise Control? There we're only about 150 of those made. Those were the only options available. If you need answers ask me. I've been battling my GLi for a few years now. But it drives Sooo well once it's warm. I would totally recommend a 2.oL engine... You'll thank me for it.

Yes sir, even tho as you can see there's a lot of stuff wrong with it. Cruise doesn't work sadly, need to figure out what isn't connected. Previous owner did a hackjob with stuff and I found several things not connected

Only progress is that I got some door pull handles to replace my broken driver handle. Also got the garage finally, so it'll be reunited with me soon

Well finally moved places. Got garage arrangements settled and now the car is with me but that also leaves me with absolutely no money for mods

I took pictures but I'll post them up later

Tried putting some chinese style door pull handles and well it's not really working out
Driver side door works fine pulling but will not lock the door

    Passenger door does absolutely nothing

The itch for a bug is also kicking in, so I might consider trading this b*tch for a bug
