Anybody near enough to Greenwich, CT to meet up at the Greenwich Concours on Saturday, June 2nd?
Last time we were there they put us in a ring of the 10 prior Best of Show winners. Tough crowd. They've asked the same car back.
Bugatti to the left of me, Ferrari to the right, there I am..................

Crap, I used to work the show every year. I'm in PA now so I don't know if I'll make it up there, but there might be enough reason to get up there and make an appearance. In fact, I probably unknowingly met you already. We served as the lackies who used to park everyone in their circles and get yelled at by cranky people who wanted to park next to their friends and such...
On a side note, I remember your car from that show. That was a good year with Williamson's Type 57SC. The shop I used to work for did the restoration on that 330GTC that's parked next to you - it has a dark, baseball-glove colored interior. We drove it down to the show that year.In fact, some of my best memories of driving are related to that show. We would hit the shop at 5:30am, load up the real special stuff in the trailers and flatbed, select our steeds to drive and high-tail it down to the show. I95 isn't a great road, but any road can be great on a deserted early summer morning when you're behind the wheel of an XK120M OTS going 100mph!

Now that I take a second look... the 400 Superamerica parked behind you in the first photo is another car we did. Took 2nd in class at Pebble, first time outta the box.
And in that second photo, it's hard to tell... but the guy walking out of the frame in the green shirt and khakis might just be me...![]()

Hey Barry,
I'm coming down with one or two 1930 Packard roadsters a friend of mine has (he has four Packard's, a 30's Cadilac roadster plus a gaggle of 1930's Ford roadsters). Look forward to meeting you.

This sounds like a worthy road trip. I haven't been to a concours since they cancelled Castle Hill.

You just have to pay at the gate. It's not cheap but you'll be treated to some world-class cars. I can't tell you what it costs for sure, as I've never gone as a paying customer.I've always had to work the whole weekend. But if you've never been, it's worth going at least once. Just do yourself a favor and get there EARLY. Trust me on this one. E A R L Y.

My wife and I live in the historic district of East Haddam on Town street - about a mile from the Goodspeed Opera house. Moved here from Rowayton, CT a few years ago and haven't looked back. Love it! I can't believe the number of interesting and very collectible cars people have up here! VWLarry would go nuts with all the vintage cars that drive past our home all summer long. It's refreshing to see so many of the really tasty cars getting driven and on a fairly regular basis.

been there once when we lived in CT....loved it. a wonderful event for those local enough to make it.![]()

Tickets are $30. Well worth it as you'll see cars out of private collections that outshine museum collections. In effect, it's an outdoor museum.
Most Concours are charity events. The proceeds in this case go to AmeriCare. As a charity you actually get to write off your ticket price as a donation.

So you'll be there Saturday? I may make the run down if I can convince the lady. I like visiting Greenwich anyways, good food down there (at fancy prices).
#24
Yes, we'll leave Sunday after seeing the second part of the show. Tickets for both days are $45.

It is also worth it to see many of the fine cars that are just in the parking lot, especially at Greenwich.

My friend and room mate went down last year and enjoyed it. Maybe i'll attend this year, and drool on some concours level paint jobs![]()

Bring a bucket. This is not your typical cruise/car show.

The really special cars are roped off to keep drool off them. To clear the ropes protecting the museum quality cars you'll need to be invited by the car owner to get within drool range. I wonder if Barry has any of those Cop show spit masks in his trunk to keep the 'Connie' safe and dry? Skip the auction. You're in Greenwich, remember.
#29
I usually go, but it's up against the American Craft Beer Fest in Boston this year...
#30
I'll definitely go since I have never attended before. I work down on Greenwich Ave (and will be probably be in the office that Saturday) so keep me posted.

1956 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL MARK II 2 DOOR COUPE
What will it bring?
EDIT..Sold for $80,000 (plus fees).
I figured it would bring even more.
The number was shooting up quickly then stopped all of a sudden.
Well, I guess if you just have two serious bidders, once one stops...

That's actually pretty good money. Undoubtedly, they had more in it to bring it to like-new condition. A friend just restored three of them. There's 150 pounds of chromium on the bumpers and trim.![]()
