That's what happens when a company goes public on the market. Customer service goes to hell and everything generally costs more. Hell, aren't the UPS works part owners now?

I tend to use USPS. Government stuff still sucks but at least they've had a looooong time to figure out getting a package from point A to point B.

Same here. It also helps that the UPS and FedEx hubs are within 3 miles of work too.

I guess it all depends on your drivers.

My FedEx and UPS guys are great and will leave all packages if i'm not home..... even ones that require signatures or the 21+ signatures. On days with bad weather they have even put packages into a vehicle in the driveway with a note on the front door.

I seem to only have problems with USPS so I avoid them at all costs and will pay more for shipping to avoid them!

What really bugs me is paying more for shipping with FedEx or UPS only to have them hand them off to USPS who then screws it up and loses the package.
I really wish everyone would update their location in their profile!

    Someone buy my car already!!

We have called FEDEX 800# in the past and given them the tracking number. They can get in touch with the driver and tell him to go back and deliver the package.

When I lived in Maryland my USPS guy would eat his lunch every day on my route right in front of my place. He's park at the end of the street, get his mail sorted, then pull out his brown bag and take a half hour. Used to drive me nuts when I was waiting for a package.

I have a personal vendetta against all package couriers. I've had zero luck with UPS, FEDEX, DHL and USPS. Screw all of them.

*Bent photos (with DO NOT BEND written clearly on the package
*A desk that arrived in splinters despite crazy expensive packaging - it literally looked like someone hit it with a forklift...or dropped it off of a truck and then backed into it.
*Denied insurance claims despite having abided by all the packing requirements
*Had a laptop stolen off of my porch because numb-nuts left it there despite no one being home to sign for it when a signature was required.
*Watched the truck fly by my house once then went to check the status online only to see "Delivery attempt made" on the screen.
    *Busted packages
    *Lost packages

    zero luck

Why do you think they're so much more efficient than those sponges at the USPS?

yeah, i figured that would be possible.

which is why i called immediately after seeing the truck drive by.

but that was not offered, and when i inquired, they said they don't have that ability.

    so much for technology.

I've literally ran out into the road to stop a UPS truck before.

    I hate UPS.

When I wrecked my Ford Lightning I was waiting on a $17,000 check from the insurance company being delivered by UPS. They couldn't find my house, so they left it at a house down the street. Mind you my address is on a big stone mailbox, like every other house on my street.

You dumb son of a B, addresses don't work like that! You can't just get close to my address and call it good! I was very upset. UPS made the driver come out, in his pajamas, and go get my damn package from where he left it.

Usps sucks big time. I have a dumb older black woman who is a moron. I had a letter that needed to be signed for. So she pulls into my driveway, gets out and rings the bell. She then returns to her truck. I look out the front window and don't see anyone. Instead of her waiting at the door, she starts to lay on her horn. My two year old is sleeping so I run outside and read her the riot act. She said she heard my dog bark so she thought I would sick my him on her. I yelled at her that this isn't the freaking ghetto.

Two Weeks later I see here do the same thing four houses down the street.

If it said 'signature required', and the driver left it w/o a signature, the carrier is on the hook for the package.

I've had all the major carriers (UPS/FedEx/USPS) screw up packages on me.

USPS has worked well for me. My only problem was with UPS when they started the delivery process that they knew they couldn't complete.

Yep they bought me another computer but they weren't happy about it. How can they be so dickish about buying me another laptop when THEY'RE the ones that F'ed up? It boggles my mind how they treat customers...in this case it was UPS

I've had the fewest issues with UPS, then FedEx. USPS is a distant third. I used to like the postal service OK, but their tracking is horrible. On the plus side, the carrier we had when I lived with my parents was fantastic. The one here is a dickwad.

I ALWAYS have FEDUPS deliver to my work address.
And I have NEVER had an issue.

Honestly- the vast majority of home deliveries are nobody home to accept package events.
I'm not saying I agree with what these drivers did, but let's just say I understand.

George Costanza: Let me ask you something. What do you do for a living, Newman?

Newman: I'm a United States postal worker.

George Costanza: Aren't those the guys that always go crazy and come back with a gun and shoot everybody?

    Newman: Sometimes.

    Jerry: Why is that?

Newman: Because the mail never stops. It just keeps coming and coming and coming. There's never a letup, it's relentless. Every day it piles up more and more, and you gotta get it out, but the more you get out, the more keeps coming in! And then the bar code reader breaks! And then it's Publisher's Clearinghouse Day...!

    Jerry: All right, all right!

Last Friday USPS lost my $60 computer part that isn't sold locally
    Out for delivery 8:08 am
    That's the last message
    No confirmation of delivery
Been to the local post office 3x since, every time a promise to call back
Tonight? A call from an unknown number at >7PM with an unprofessional excuse and apology

I use FedEx and UPS pretty regularly...But I never ship anything to my house anymore...Everything gets sent to my office. Seems like they do a better job at commercial delivery.

Friday before a long weekend. Chances are good you'll get the 45mph drive by delivery. If you were standing on your front lawn they may have thrown it at you. Otherwise, you'll get it Wednesday (Tuesday is "hungover day after a long weekend").

Meh I don't usually have problems with any of them.

The only thing, which is annoying, is that fact that my mail is delivered anytime between 9am and 5pm. While at my parents house it was almost always right at 4 pm.

I've had no issues with FedEx thankfully. If I do miss a delivery, their distribution center is like 2 minutes down the road from me, so it's super easy to deal with. Lucky for me, I suppose.

UPS is the bane of my existence though. Those guys effing suck. Miss a delivery from them and you can't just go pick it up later that evening. Business hours between 9-5. Well, that is really helpful for those of us who work normal business hours. Then you have to call, put it on will call, blah blah blah. I avoid UPS like the plague.
Where are we going and why am I in this handbasket?
