From multiple sources including my local dealer, I understand that VW (OEM) splash guards / mud flaps for the 2012 Passat will not be available until July 2012. I'm curious if anyone has had luck with aftermarket molded guards/flaps?
I recently came across this on eBay although it's from China so you never know.....

Gees, $30 and they ship for free? How can you go wrong? (company feedback is good too).

I purchased a set of 2012 VW mudflaps off ebay from China because I did not want to wait for VW. They just arrived on Monday and installed them. They were $29.86 (+/-?) shipped. The ones I purchased from China DO NOT have the PASSAT raised letters on the rear.
These were not the hard plastic, but slightly pliable. They are definately made for the 2012 Passat as fitment is correct. The front flaps have a flat side to match the the lower flat area of the fascia and the rears have the non round radius.
They work, they fit correctly, they are slightly pliable, my only complaint is I would prefer for them to have gone further up the inner front fender lip because when I make a hard turn, some of the spray still hits the upper fender area on the front.
Amazing to purchase 4ea mudflaps AND shipped from China for under $30.00???
On a side note I just do not see how the U.S. can compete with China manufacturing non technical or disposable items?

I did the same thing thinking its only $30....... They got here in about 10 days. I put them on yesterday with the screws that hold on the fender liner. The holes fit perfectly. I was pleased to not have to drill new holes. The rears fit perfectly while the front ones are just good. For now they are staying on.........definitely worth $30

I know it's not July and my dealer still can't get them, but has anyone been able to get splash guards in the US yet?

hey everyone,
because of this thread, I took the change and purchased and installed a set of the ebay mud flaps. Surprisingly they fit very well and well worth the $22.00 shipped. great stuff!

I bought and installed a set of these from China a few months ago, and unfortunately they are very cheaply made (at least the one's I ordered). 2 of mine have torn and so I'm going to be removing them and hopefully the OEM ones get here sooner so I can get a set of those, which should be of better quality.
