So I bought a 1980 vw rabbit and I threw wiring out of an 85 Jetta dash ect, the motor to and when I went to start it it doesn't have spark I looked it up and there are 4 wires that run to to ignition coil I am getting power to the coil but not out of it, I tested the coil and ignition modual that I had on my rabbit on my 82 rabbit both of them checked out fine. I want to to is there more then 4 wires that run to the coil in the 85 Jetta or what? Anything that may help please share.

Are the wires hooked up to the coil properly? + and -?

is it actually CISe? or CIS lambda?

if its out of a jetta Gl, its lambda.

if it was out of a GTI/GLI, then its CIS lambda..

    they drive the coil differently.

hook the coil up to the 85 wiring with the 85 ignition module.
