It won't work. The VR6 has a different bellhousing than the 2.0L

You want an 020 trans, not 02A.

You bought a passat VR6 trans? It won't bolt up. At all.
Firstly, you need a 020 code trans. From a 93-99 Jetta/Golf/GTI 2.0.
Second, you CAN use a 02a code trans, but it has to be from a 4 cylinder car. Like a corrado g60, or a passat 16v. It's stronger than the stock 020, shifts smoother, has cable linkage, etc.

im thinking he didnt actually buy the o2a trans, only said he did so it sounded like hes making moves..

o2a swap is not that simple even with the right o2a, u need to swap the pedals and get the brake booster for the hydraulic clutch and all the other **** mentioned and then some.

020+bolt kit+shim kit=decent setup thats plenty strong for the NA 2.0
