I got a 06 GLI a lil over a week ago and i went to check the cam follower today but couldnt get the fuel pump un hooked. Its got a regular hose fitting and looks like a brake style banjo fitting. i cant seem to get the bolt out. has anyone had this same problem? The car has 129000 on it and im not sure if its ever been done. i hope someone can help me with this. i would have gotten pics but i dont have a mirror.

Yeah, the banjo fitting came on some of the earlier versions of the pump. It is a PITA because you have to take the fitting loose to pull the pump out. Later versions come with a "bamboo" fitting with a flexible rubber hose, so you only have to undo the one side to pull the pump. I think one of the DIY's floating around explains how to remove the banjo fitting...my pump doesn't have that one so I don't know for sure, sorry
