Came in at #5. Meh, what do they know anyways.

But did anyone but it for the fuel economy? I sure as hell did not.

My favorite is:
"Reality check: The Volkswagen Golf R has slightly worse city fuel economy than popular American muscle cars like the 2012 Dodge Charger and 2012 Dodge Challenger. "
Reality check: It actually doesn't. Thanks to these folks, we now know that higher performing cars get worse mileage.

My favorite is they offer the Honda Odyssey as an alternative to the Mazdaspeed3. Because I sure was torn between a minivan and a hot hatch.

I got the golf r for fuel
Economy!!!!
30-33 mpg highway is about the same as my 94 corolla. I think I won big time by getting triple the performance and same gas mileage.
They are just going by EPA ratings, they don't know how to get good gas mileage anyway.

Agreed! 4/5 the are AWD! I am surprised they did the Ralliart instead of the Evo. Even though a tuned Ralliart is still fun.
On side note I have drove a Ralliart with exhaust, tune, and intake that broke all 4 wheels loose on a wet road at 30-35mph when the boost kicked in. Scared me for a second when the car started to merge lanes by itself. LOL

That was honestly the dumbest thing I have ever seen written. Man, I should have been an internet writer for a large 'news' company. I just have to write stupid crap and get paid.
My favorite is the reality check on the Lancer. A Porsche with the PDK gets better MPG. Okay...That is good to know. "Man it sure does suck that I bought this Lancer when the six figure Porsche could have gotten better MPG....what a stupid purchase I made".![]()

Captain Obvious here. It's Yahoo Autos. Yahoos writing about autos. derp.
440 million years ago there was an ice age that lasted 500,000 years. Atmospheric Carbon Dioxide levels were an order of magnitude higher than today. When you can explain that, I'll get serious about reducing my carbon footprint. Until then, I'm keeping the car.

These are the same people who believe that internal combustion is a porno movie and that cars run on magic that is created when the cars stomach digest fossil fuels.

I thought that was a very nice, brief, accurate review. Exactly why I bought the car.![]()

I don't understand why a 'hatch' automatically qualifies as a 'small' car? My Golf is actually bigger side by side to my friends 335Xi and a pile of other sedans I won't bother mentioning.
It's a hatch not a Smart Car.

I am proud of my ****ty mileage and my 0-60 time!
Also APR Stage1+ is even worse!![]()

That was a stupid article. All of those cars were the sport and/or AWD version. No one is buying any of those cars for MPG.
Poorly written and almost insulting to think anyone would buy a performance version for anything other than performance.
#25
Coming from a STi...this car gets much better gas mileage, which for me, was a selling point!
#26
And they didn't even bother mentioning that all but the (always ridiculously non-frugal) Mazdaspeed3 are AWD.
#27
I just got a kick out of 4 of those cars being AWD... and am also surprised they didn't pick an EVO.. to make it all AWD
I never knew the matrix was available in AWD though so I learned something new today
