I think I'm gonna take my RM's apart before I get the new tires mounted. I am in need of some polishing and would like to get some ideas of how hard it's gonna be to do it myself. The wheels don't have much rash and the centers are mint but the clear is peeling on most of the lips. I have a full other set of wheels so the length of time it's gonna take doesn't matter. How difficult of a task is this to undertake by yourself. Do most have some one else do it? I have access to the tools to do the job so that not a problem.
I know this would be the time to get a couple extra lips to widen the "stance" (sorry, I know that's a bad word) but no current funds to go wider thus the DIY part of this.
Also I'm having a hard time deciding what size tires to run. The wheels are 15x6.5. I'm no where near rubbing the fenders and I don't like how skinny my tires are. Currently the tires on the car are 195/50r15's and I want to run a little wider tire. I don't care if it's a little balloony and and the wheels are to narrow to pull off streching. What would be the next logical step up. 205/50r-15? 205/40r-15?
TIA
