I got my mom one of these:

And didn't realize how small the fonts were on the screen. Specifically, incoming caller numbers are too small for my 63 year young mom.

I've tried to give her an iPhone, but she just wants something super basic. If I can't find a way to get the incoming call font bigger, is there a GSM dumb phone out there that you guys recommend?

    Thanks!

Does symbian S60 have an app store, or can you search the web for apps for that phone. I don't know if it even uses apps (in the modern sense), but if so, maybe there is an accessibility app that can change the fonts and whatnot.
Few people understand the psychology of dealing with a highway traffic cop. A normal speeder will panic and immediately pull over to the side. This is wrong. It arouses contempt in the cop heart. Make the bastard chase you. He will follow.

I still have a Nokia E71 that is basically like your E51 but with a QWERTY keyboard. I haven't used it in a while, but I'll see if there are any such settings. You might want to download the user manual from Nokia's website in the meantime.

BTW the E51 is a smartphone, not a dumbphone. S60's menus consist of layer upon layer upon layer. It can be quite intimidating and rather unfriendly. An iPhone would be far easier for your mother to use.

you're right. She does want a candybar phone. I thought that the E51s screen size and keyboard would mean easy to read font and easy to use. I was wrong.
