Thread: Split Pipe Help!

  1. 04-26-2012 02:23 PM #1
Hi, was cleaning my buterfly valve thing, well about to and lent on a pipe, I don't know If I broke it or if it was cracked anyway. But the end of it that connects to something is cracked.

    My questions are:

Can I cut the pipe slightly shorter and connect it instead of replacing it? Will it affect anything if I do?

What is the pipe for, what does it connect to and how can I get a replacement?

    A picture of the pipe:

    Thanks Jos.

heat the pipe up with a lighter or a propane torch for a few seconds, it will slide right on and then harden and seal up. And you will be good to go. I did the same thing on my car, same exact pipe.

^^ Thanks will try tomorrow, however it cracked again so I fear it may be too short to cut some more off :/ What does the pipe do cause I put some insulation tape around it and the cars running the same, no noticable differences. Whats the pipe called to phone the dealers up to just incase it is to short.
