This car was saved from a trip to the crusher. It had been wrecked a few times by the PO and the last was not going to be covered. they had gone into a ditch and ruined the front suspension, bumper, fenders... Ken picked it up and purchased the lift from me - it's been driven on a regular basis since then. He keeps up with the maintenance. It gets the proper 5w40 505.01 synthetic, timing belts, and other less necessary things like better seats and such. I think it's far better off then it was before he bought it.

Yeah - I cringe every time I see a good old car get crushed. (and every time I see a new car )

He sounds like me, I saved my car from the crusher, the p/o wrecked it in a valley in Oregon and it caught fire on the way home, can you imagine a hippy looking stoner running like flash Gordon into a 24 hour gym to grab a fire extinguisher ?!?

Well true story, I saw my cat material flying out on fire from the tail pipe and decided to pull into the gym lol, cause: the p/o broke 3 motor mounts and it caused the distributor to smash into a brake light switch on the master cylinder the distributor was melted and stuck off center on the melted rotor

I narrowly avoided catastrophe with my antics as the white hot exhaust had flames dancing on the gas tank heat shield

After driving 2000 miles I felt a lot of vibration, I peeeled the paint off and found house foam sealer, I scraped that off and found a 4 foot tear in the unibody so I bought a welder and fixed it

I'm about to change the cut springs with a full stock setup (car is too low and wheels rub)

I drive like a maniac on the dirt roads here and have had a few dukes of hazard moments

I get a lot of **** but hey I saved a S model from being crushed it's a zombie car with 260,ooo miles


The po's friends are amazed the car still drives

I'd rather drive a pos lookin car with a built engine any day over a perfect show car
