Thread: My 1983 Rabbit Gti PICTURES!!

  1. 05-02-2012 11:05 AM #36
Popular opinion seems to disagree, but I really like the hatch.
Would have to see it in person but it looks well executed to me.

The hatch is unique and I kind of like it myself. Was it grafted from a VW truck tailgate?

yea im a senior as well. My rabbit is pretty clean and most of my friends that know how much time i put into it think its cool. The only negativity i get is from douchebags that say stuff like "what a piece of ****, what is that car 40 years old"
    The ignorance is rampant.
There are actually two cabriolets in the parking lot too. The kids aren't much of gear heads, but they love their cars.
my bunny can buy beer but i cant

i have the feeling most are saying to take off the hatch because likely a straight(hard to find) tailgate was sacrificed. whatever, the damage is done, it looks good, rock it.

reasonable things to change, not like the guy who suggested reversing the single wiper(if the driver side hole is welded shut), would be headlight alignment and ditching that beer tap.

alas, it's your car, you can make your own decisions.

Car is beautiful overall... but front euro bumper looks funny. Did you drill and fasten just in front of the wheel well, or did you go with the floppy ears install?
