what else is done to the motor, software, turbo...

okay so i have a VW MK4 GTI and when i bought it the previous owner installed a BOV with a bigger FMIC these cars were ment to have a DV installed...so i did the right thing and bought a Forge 007 DV i installed it about a week ago and my car started running like CRAP! it would kinda jump while im crusing and i can hear the turbo spooling and blowing when i was just cruising, also when i switched gears it would act as if i were pressing the pedal more than i should and go back down. if that makes sense...anyways i thought i may be some hoses that i needed to replaced so i replaced one and beaner rigd the other and its STILL doing the same thing! also it idles a little funny with the DV. Now i put the BOV back on and runs smooth......Anyone that has some knowledge in this area please help![]()

what hoses are you hooking up to the dv? the 007 SHOULD sit up right, bottom opening should be attached to the tip (intake) the side opening should be attached to your ic piping, and the little nipple on top should be attached to a vacuum source. i'd put money on it that you have it installed incorrectly. you can also switch the orientation of the dv, putting the bottom inlet on the ic line and the side inlet on the intake pipe, kinda defeats the purpose of having it "divert" the pressure though

take pics of the engine bay and close up around the tip. the last owner may have cut it. You definitely need that vacuum line

I'm no expert by any means but it looks like the recirculating port on the red hose is plugged and do you have the vacuum line on the end of the dv? It's kind of hard to see. Also the hose that's missing from what I see is the one that connects the dv to the recirculating port. But like I said I'm no expert this would be my guess.

... There are three "tips" to your DV, connect the damn hoses to all of them.![]()

Your engine bay is confusing as hell but I think I know what's going on. On the large red hose or turbo inlet pipe there is a small hole that sticks out to the right of that black hockey puck looking thing. It looks like it is plugged, thats where your DV is supposed to go. There's a real small hose that is sitting right by there in the picture that's supposed to attach to the top of the DV. You will then probably have to get a long hose from an auto parts store to loop around to the nipple on the intercooler piping where the BOV is connected. Seems like a real ****ty design for the piping with the nipple all the way over there.
