Well the car has been sitting for about 2 years or so before I bought it and towed it home. I bought a battery, new plugs, and poured fresh gas...my gas hose under the car had rotted, so I replaced it and all the gas ran out. Anyway When I try to start it...It turns over but kinda of sounds like it has no spark. I dont want to spend a ton on the motor when you can buy these things cheap. I plan to swap it out but Im anxious to get it started. WHAT CAN I TRY???

My rocco has been sitting for 6 years and im having the same problems even after changing the sparks/plugs/wires
my cabby "bebop"
My Scirocco "siegfried"
Pull one of the plug wires with a spark plug installed. Have someone try and start the car. When you do this check to see if there is a spark on the plug. Make sure you ground the removed plug wire. If there is no spark you may want to change the coil, dist. cap and rotor. Good luck.
