    Thread: I need shocks..

      Hi i just received my kit but i have no shocks in the back, dont think i should run this on stock shocks lol
      What would be the best quality shocks?
      (for a golf mk6 on re-5)

      I like either the Bilstein Sport shocks or Koni Sport shocks. Either one is a little shorter than stock

      I'll just add a question. What about bump stops? How much should them be cut?

      Before I switched to the adjustable Koni's, I cut the bumpstops off completely on my stock rear shocks. Doing so brought the rears down considerably, but the stock shocks rode quite terribly.

      Without bumpstops does the shock absorber bottom out on the shock support? Can this cause damage?

      Ok ill go for konis since bilstein are backorder, wont run those bitches on stock shocks lol becauce racekor

      I don't think they end up bottoming out, but it will fatigue them faster than you would otherwise.

      Bilsteins aren't adjustable btw. Koni's are. Both are great though.

      Go with konis or bilsteins. I went with Airlift and I do wish I went with konis or bilsteins prob be ordering them at some point lol

      You're not going to find them "for cheap". No adjustable shock worth a **** will be cheap. With that said, I got mine from ECS Tuning.

      With what? On the air ride side, it won't make one bit of difference. On the overall handling side, it will help out substantially.
