So, every now and then you get upset with your Dub and say "i'm gonna get something different ".

Then you do what I did and go on a road trip from ATL to ORL (6hrs) and rent a car. I received a 2011 nissan Altima. First impression; looks half decent on the outside. The good feeling changed on the inside. the driver seat was unacceptable. no support anywhere! Now this is Ok for around town, but road trip......nyet. This car is BULL****. no power, uncompfortable, garbage. Now granted it was the base model but still, damn....

So when I got to ORL I went straight to the Avis counter and turned that POS in for something else. They had a 2012 Maz 6 available. Seats more comfy (but not perfect), nice interior, so i figured what the hell .

Hit 75N and the BULL**** begins...this Maz has 0 power. Lots of revving and going no where fast!

Even my wife was unimmpressed. "Honey, your car is much more powerful than this shyte" (she doesn't know about the revo stage2 ).

So despite my door handles, door lock buttons peeling, and the small issues here and there, I LOVE MY DUB...SEATS ARE FANTASTIC, POWER IS ALWAYS THERE, INTERIOR IS SO MUCH NICER than most....the end

    love your DUB

I totally agree! I always complain about it but I would never sell it and if for reason I had to sell it, I dont know what else I would buy besides another vw.

Also has anyone noticed that vw drivers are way nicer then other drivers?
I used to have money, now I have a Volkswagen

Whenever I have to take the company car ('04 Ford Taurus) on a long trip I come to appreciate my Passat even more. Everything about the Taurus is garbage. I don't even feel safe driving it above 60mph. Passat seats are magical compared to the torture devices in the Taurus.

I rode along in a Ford Fusion recently. Didn't like that either. The road noise was unbearable and again, the interior felt cheap with uncomfortable seats and zero lumbar support. I get the feeling I'm riding around in a recycled Taurus.

I'm going out on a limb here, but I think I love my Passat. You mentioned problems with power in the rentals; ever ridden in a 2012 Jetta S? That will blow your mind, you expect to be put back in the seat just a little, but you don't. The 2.0T has impressed me as well as my friends as far as power/acceleration is concerned. I've also driven a Fusion, and I wasn't disappointed with interior, but I found the gas and break pedals too close together, and, now that I think of it, it wasn't super slow, but not "quick" either.

I used to daily a mazda in the winter, 07 mazda 6, uncomfortable seats, no power what soever. I have also rented a 2012 volvo c70, nothing impressive there either. Only thing about that car I liked was the bluetooth connection to my phone.

I have to disagree, while I enjoy my Passat it has some faults that don't normally appear on cars. Such as the interior creeks can I do a a turn , the soft paint is peeling and bubbling everything is plastic (interior wise). My Nissan Versa which is one of the cheapest cars you can buy doesn't have those problems. Also this model lacks alot of basic features and most are optional. And dont even get me started on the reliability. But overall I like my Passat but I wouldn't say its perfect. Just my 2 cents

FAR from perfect, but imo, best bang for the buck. Even the new Passat, I saw one in the dealer, leather touch screen, sun roof (don't remember trim level) for 25k. And the look of the Passat is great. Not sure what you mean by lacking basic features; a lot of things came standard on the value that I was surprised by..non-cloth seats, automatic 1-touch up/down windows all around, power everything, LED tail lights, projector head lights, AND an armrest! Something the base Versa's and Jetta's don't have
