I have an ABA turbo that I completed not too long ago and it runs like a top. The only thing I'm not entirely thrilled with is how abruptly it comes out of boost. Basically when I'm driving part throttle and boosting lightly (maybe 5 psi out of a possible 15) and lift slightly mid-corner to make a small speed adjustment it is dumping everything instantly and going into engine braking, which you can imagine unsettles the car quite a bit.
Relevant setup notes:
Hallman ball & spring style MBC
Precision WG (10 psi springs)
OEM 1.8T DV
Any thoughts? I know it is supposed to dump when I lift, just don't remember the transition being so abrupt on my old 1.8T.
Note to self: when fiddling with a diverter valve design you haven't touched in seven years make sure you accurately remember the correct orientation. I had the DV backwards so it wasn't opening when the throttle closed. Nothing like turbo bark to wake you up. Much smoother now and one step closer to the end of shakedown.
