2007 a4-Q 2.0 AutoTrans: stuck in 1st gear, shifts tiptronic , read cheap solution

My GFs car, first it was intermittent, VAGGed it, no faults. Then it finally got stuck in first, VAGGED it , "Brake light Switch" WTx?? So I read a few posts, bought switch (AUDI dealer parts $11.85), assembled per vortex FAQ, now fixed.

BTW it shifted fine in TIP mode. I had bought a filter/gasket and was ready to do a fluid change, wasted 85$, but did not get dirty with a 10 min switch change.

still laughing at the German logic here: in the strict sense yes no brake lights then it is a saftey concern, but shut the car down? MY GF had no idea how to use the TIP shift.

Also bad switch did not throw a CEL, but only showed in scan
