I have a 2004 R32 that has rust coming thru the paint... in what i would refer to as the rain gutters above the rear windows on both sides of the car. I have taken it the body shop to see about getting this rust taken care of which isnt a problem, but my question is in reference to wether or not there should be some sort of seal that fits down in this rain gutter. Sorry I dont have pictures to help out with the discription of what I am talking about, but hopefully some one on here can help me out with a part number for these seals. Again this is the seam between the roof top and the side quarter panels above the rear windows.

    TIA,
    Paul

there should be a black rubber trim piece that fits in the gap between the roof and quarter. its mostly just cosmetic though, it doesn't really do anything. the rust is from the seam sealer cracking at that joint and moisture getting underneath. i have repaired a couple of them at the shop so its not uncommon.
