Breaking News:
Forge Motorsport is pleased to announce that our US office has been appointed as the official US importer of 3SDM wheels out of the UK!
www.3sdm.co.uk
Production of the highly anticipated 0.05 design is currently under way with the first bulk shipment expected to arrive in the US sometime in June! We are working to have a dedicated US website live very shortly as well!
Look for more information to be available at the Southern Worthersee show in a few weeks, where we will also be taking orders for the wheels!
Until the US website goes live, please contact us at 3sdm@forgemotorsport.com with any enquiries.

I needed a break from the forums for a bit! It gets a little too intense sometimes! I'll be around, but probably a bit less frequently than before!![]()
Indeed they are. The front fitment has a little bit of concave, but the rear is a bit deeper.
Let me say that I do not specifically advise running a staggered set on a Haldex equipped car. The different overall rolling diameters between the front and the rear when you have more of a stretched tire in the rear will negatively impact the function of the torque distribution of the Haldex. I would suggest sticking with the same size all the way around on a any generation of R.
The staggered setup does look tits though!

Maybe I'll make some real power this year.

So, any idea what they weigh? I like these, but I'm not buying any wheel unless I'm cutting some decent weight over the stockers.

US pricing has been finalized on the wheels, and we are now accepting pre-orders! Delivery of the first shipment is still expected in June!
18x8.5 et42 - $275 each
18x9.5 et40 - $300 each
$1100 non staggered 8.5" wide
$1150 staggered (8.5 front, 9.5 rear)
$1200 non staggered 9.5" wide
Standard colors will be silver with polished accents, and then a matte black finish. We have not yet been able to finalize custom colors.
Shipping will be additional.
Contact us if you are interested in pre-ordering a set!

It will actually be a fully custom built to order 3-piece setup!
Yes, we will be offering those as well, but they have not been completely finalized yet! Expect more info on those as they near being ready for widespread release!![]()

Any chance of these being introduced in a 19 inch fitment in the future?

We have received confirmation that our first shipping container of wheels is en route to us now!
The first container holds both Silver/Cut and Matte Black finishes in the 5x100 and 5x112 fitments.
We have also increased the total number of wheels on the first shipment, so we will have more available initially, and the opportunity to pre-order is still available.
With that said, the boat our container is on is not expected to land here until mid-July. This is due to the boat making other stops before it finally lands here, so this is obviously a little later than initially anticipated, but the wheels are indeed on the way!
Please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions or to place a pre-order!

Those are sweet! They remind me of the rims off one of my favorite cars. The Ferrari 308/328. i might have to get a set for my winter tires.
What is the weight on the stock wheels? Are they really that much heavier?
#17
I don't have the weight of the stock wheels off hand, but these are about 26 lbs, which is very reasonable for a cast wheel with such a chunky monoblock design.
#18
Are you going to be getting those White and Silver ones stocked (or the red ones)?
Still waiting on the Scorpion Exhaust. . . but wheels will be next on the list.
Also, on the Golf R, what is typically the size one would go with using the 18 x 8.5 (112's)? Which Offset is needed to fit and not use any spacers. . . and what tire size works best (too much math for me)?
Thanks. . .
#19
I would suggest 18x8.5 et42 all around with a 215/40/18 tire for a MK6 R.
The white/cut version will be a standard offering, but is being introduced later. It will be a part of our second shipment arriving sometime mid-late August. You are welcome to pre-order that finish now if you would like.
There is no red version as standard. We had a bright orange wheel done as a sample to show the potential for custom color options, but this will obviously be at an extra cost, which we are still finalizing between a few local powder coaters.

What do you think would be the best wheel size and tire size setup on a mkv R, on coils? I don't wanna run spacers either. Thanx

I am in love with this white/cut version. I am not sure I understand the et42. I put et 43 with 225/40/18 on and I was rubbing like crazy. I sheared the edge of the tread right off. Is this that different?

Can I get a price for a set of 18" rims, matt black for golf R , thanks
#26
No plans for 17's as of yet. No plans for narrower widths either.
19" versions in the same widths and offsets are already in the works and should be available in November.
Offset is not the only factor that determines clearance and fitment. Tire sizes, suspension height, alignment/camber settings, etc. will all factor in.
This particular fitment with this offset is better suited for a slightly more stretched tire like a 215/40 if you have static suspension like springs or coilovers, or a 215/35 if you have air ride.
I am running a 215/40 on my R with slightly rolled front fenders and I have no rubbing issues whatsoever.
$1100 plus shipping for 18x8.5 all the way around
$1150 for 18x8.5 front and 18x9.5 rear

Can we do et45? I think 42 will rub too much, I rub now with stock wheels? Do you have white cut in stock?

No et45 option at this time. You should probably roll the inner lip on your front fenders and run a slightly stretched 215/40 tire. This is the exact setup I am running above with rolled fenders, and I don't rub at all.
White/Cut will be available in 3-4 weeks. They are en route in our second container as I type this.

The wheels don't stick out of the wheel well do they? Can you take pics from the front and back down the side of the car? On stretched tires, how is the handling? I am not in it just for looks, I would expect it to be functional as well. On the website, it says they only come in ET35 and ET 45 in 18x8.5. Thank you for your responses.
#32
No pics of square fitment at the moment. Soon.
The offsets selected are perfectly flush.
See below.
No, the 8.5's don't poke at all.
Depending on the exact tire you select, a 215/40 can have the exact same section width as a given 225/40. Do your research on the available tires within your budget.
The website does not break down the available offsets by bolt pattern. The offsets quoted above are what is available for the 5x112 fitment.
