ive heard about using a multi purpose lacquer thinner and or rubbing alcohol.

ive used both 71% isopropyl alc and Kleen Strip product of a natural multipurpose cleaner. neither has worked. a friend recommended Clay Barring.

    any other suggestions?

Do you know what kind of tree it was from? How long has it been on there? Can you feel it with your fingers?

Stay away from laquer thinners or acetone ..

    Suggested methods

    1) IPA ... which you tried.

    2) Naptha

    3) Terpintine.

    4) Clay bar.

Good possibility it wasn't sap .. but your done . As for the scratches & swirls ... look in the DIY at the top ... not much chance you will correct by hand .. you'll need a PC and proper pads/polishes.
