Made major progress on my car this weekend, not sure if its enough.

Finished the Quattro conversion, built rear coil-overs, mounted gas tank, wired fuel lever sender, built filler neck, built rear floor and reinforcements, made brake lines, connected parking brake, fabricated exhaust, went to junkyard and bought a back seat, installed back seat, did an eyeball alignment to get me by until Tuesday, drove the car a bit, shorted out the ecu and killed it, towed car home.

Took the ECU apart and found the blown up trace's. Had my dad solder them, it runs again

Have a bit more to do before Wuste, but its looking like it will make it. I have a vibration I need to track down, a bad oil leak where I smacked the pan, and a few other things to deal with. Just not enough time.

The plan is for me and 2 friends (Dan - MK2Pal and another buddy) will ride in my car, and my Fiance will drive her car with a friend. Its about 550 miles each way. We are leaving at midnight on Thursday night. If I have any problems there will be little or no way to get help until Friday morning!

Anyways, off to the junkyard - need some interior bits and pieces

Glad you guys like it! I had the car aligned on Wednesday before we left and everything came right into spec. Car ran and drove great. After having a custom driveshaft built overnight by San Leandro Driveline to replace my handmade not balanced driveshaft and replacing the pressure plate that had 2 bent straps, all vibrations were gone.

I just ordered a TIG welder so I can (hopefully) weld aluminum without having to send it out. I need to install my boost gauge, wideband air fuel ratio gauge and water meth injection so I can turn up the boost more.

Pretty much all for now. Just started working graveyard shift this week so I am trying to get used to that

The drive out was awesome. Kevin you car is UNBELIEVABLE!! But 9 hour or so of a drive in a fixed "sparco" seat is HELL, and I would sooo do it again.
      DO work!

Awesome! After buying my coupe quattro I have the sudden urge to gut the engine and drivetrain and cram it into the mk2.

Once again, thanks for all the comments. I love building/fabricating/customizing and this project has been a blast. I'm almost sad it is "done". I have been daily driving it and taking care of little odds and ends, but nothing major.

I installed an A-pillar gauge pod with a boost and wideband gauge. I have been trying to track down a speed related vibration, and found my right front wheel has a warped barrel. Doh! So I am trying to find a replacement 15x6 inner barrel, and strongly considering getting rid of those wheels and getting fifteen52 17x8 4x108 tarmac wheels, and some bigger brakes. It would solve a lot of my problems, but I would be sad to loose my color matched wheels.

The thought has run through my head to sell it - it sure would make affording the house I want easier. But I don't think I could. The car is everything I want, all in one car. And I am sure that whoever bought it would kill themselves. Car is insane/scary easy to push past the limit. I hope I don't end up in jail again

My phone no longer takes pictures, not that it took very good ones before. That's why there haven't been any picture updates.

You guys are making me more and more tempted to pic up some Tarmac's. I kinda blew my wad by buying a TIG welder last week, so it will have to wait a little while. But they are definitely something I want.

bikkjaa - I think I posted all of the pictures I have from the build, but I will check with my fiance to see if she has any on her camera. Love your car btw!

Pineapplegti ! - Saw your car at Wuste but somehow didn't run into you?? MAybe we will catch up at dubfest??

MadTreg - Thanks! With a big power VRt, AWD became a requirement. I had a full vr6 syncro drivetrain, but decided I really wanted to go quattro/torsen instead of viscous coupling or haldex. Anyways thanks again!

brad@fifteen52 - Brad...I have been resisting the urge to PM you with my CC info...That said I did email fifteen52 about a replacement barrel for my bent RS...I think John is looking into that for me. I'm sure I will be ordering wheels sooner than later

Nothing new to add about the car. Took the taillight bulbs out and put them in mk2pal's car so we could get his euro tails installed. So I had to drive my Mk4 to work for the first time since I got my mk2 back on the road. What a boring commute!

In other news, I plan on taking the car to Infineon Raceway for some drag racing sometime soon.
