Sold one of my MK4 Jetta's today, definitely put my family in a better financial spot. I have an offer in on a house - should find out any day now whether it is accepted or not. Can't wait to own instead of renting.
Got the motor installed in Burak's MK4 gti pictured above. He is having me change a few things - the wastegate location, welding an elbo on the turbo outlet, redoing the boost pipes, changing one of the oil coolers and some other little bits. Well I tacked the wastegate elbo on and fitted the compressor outlet elbo and sent them off to be TIG welded. Hopefully I will get it running this weekend
Update on Burak's car
Powdercoated the valve cover and had an AN bung welded on
Built the boost pipes
Then took the boost pipes off to have them professionally welded then powdercoated. Installed an EGT bung and put the valve cover on
Pushed the car into the driveway
Powdercoated intake manifold and the turbo inlet pipe
HTF did i miss this thread! I'm not surprised though. You're always thinking TOTALLY out the box. And what funny is that i've been thinking alot about this type of conversion. Especially after looking at pic's of the RWD VRT Rado.
