The parts for my windows have arrived that address the auto-up/down issues that have plagued many owners but today I've noticed an entirely new and unrelated issue with my windows.
On the driver's side when the window goes all the way down (fully open), it sounds like the glass is bottoming out on something metal.
It's definitely hitting something or something has come loose and only is affected at the glass' particular point of travel and/or at that point in the mechanical process.
Anyone else experience this?
I have noticed excessive rattles and how loose the inner workings of the door sound when shutting them with the windows down.
I dont have the bottoming out sound but I have heard the difference in the sound of the door shutting with the window down. It had me doing a double take.. walked back to the car and reshut the door and walked off thinking "sounds like something is just not right in there". Keep us posted if the "window fix" fixes your windows for good. mine seem to be having problems about each time I go to roll them up. Maybe this is why some beetle windows shatter mysteriously.. I got so pissed the first time it happened to me I was about to rip the damn window out. I had to just walk away..
